I am a huge fan of the old LBS.  Joe and Enrique run a very good, clean, organized shop.  Joe is very honest and takes his time to listen to what the customer needs.  Enrique is very quick to understand the subtle problems with brakes and shifters.  I take my bikes there to have parts changed out, and also to re-pack bearings.
Thank you Joe and Enrique and Tony's . . . for your good and continued service!!!

Tony's has been in Southern California since 1946, the second oldest shop in Southern Cali, if you ask who's the first he'll gladly let you know. I recently purchased a '74 Schwinn off of Craig's List and needed to get it worked on. A friend of mine suggested this shop. He was all, it's been there forever, I use to go there as a kid, Tony is awesome! That's really all the convincing I needed. So I packed my bike up into the back of the 4Runner and drove down. There's a small hidden parking lot in the back, where I unloaded the bike and had a quick chat with the bike mechanic. Then I went up front to the shop and talked with Tony. I felt like we had known each other for years. He shared stories from the recent times to back in the '70's when BMX was first coming up in the world. So, after I filled out some papers, was explained what was going to be done to my bike, new white wall tires, tubes and a good tune up, it would be ready in a week. And, it was, in beautiful condition and rode like a dream. All for under $53. Tony's also has a wonderful assortment of bicycles, street, mountain, cruisers and hybrids. Plus all the accessories to go with them. So, if you need a bicycle or need your bike worked on, go to Tony's. You'll thank me, I promise!

I've been to several bike shops around East LA and the SGV. None were nearly as professional as Tony's. Some places are ok, some are bad, and some places are pretty great. Tony's is the very best. The best and friendliest service, the best mechanic that can fix anything, and even the best prices. His range of bikes is really good too. everything from cruisers, road bikes, hybrids, and mountain bikes. I bought my first Hybrid from there and I've been coming back ever since. I don't know of a better bike shop in the area

The older, personable gentleman who is friendly and speaks English and Spanish in the shop is not Tony, nor is he named Tony, but he is very nice. He is much older than he appears. He gives good deals and the service fast. His non english speaking mechanic gave my bike a tune up but it wasn't anywhere near as thorough and good as the tune ups Ive had at Pasadena Cyclery, where when I get them there, the bike feels brand new again. The price is slightly cheaper. I need two wheels because ignorant thugs stole my wheels a few months ago, so Im going there, anticipating a deal. Who knows what I will get, but I know it will be a cheap deal. He even gives credit to some people.. only if its reasonably cheap. You write down your name and how much you owe and pay him later. This is of course only for people who are just down and out or completely strapped. As the guy put it "Im not going to get rich working here" LOL!
