MASTERS RACES: All Masters Races restricted to categories 1-4.
FIELD LIMITS: Promoter reserves right to combine fields if preregistration minimums (25 for all events) are not met by 11:45PM on May 16, 2013. Max. field size: 50 for Men's Cat 5 event, 75 for Women's Cat 4 event, 100 for all other events.
COURSE: 23 mile circuit on rolling terrain, 1300 ft climbing/circuit (rec. gear 39/23), no feed zone.
SUPPORT: Neutral wheel support using wheels provided by competitors as resources.
REGISTRATION: Register online at www.bikereg.com (no additional online registration fees for registrations prior to Midnight on May 12, 2013, standard online registration fee after that time) or mail 2013 Standard Release and $35.00 check payable to LSBR to: Chris Naimie, 15 Tonga Drive, Bow, NH 03304. No refunds.
RACE DAY SIGN-IN:7:00AM until 30 minutes prior to the start of each event. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.
RESULTS:Top 10 results for each field at event. Full results posted on-line after event and submitted to USA Cycling.
USA CYCLING LICENSING REGULATIONS: All racers must have a USA Cycling license. One-day licenses may be purchased at registration on race day($10.00 additional fee).

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
  • This race could not be held without the approval of the three municipalities surrounding Lake Sunapee (Newbury, Sunapee, and New London, NH) and the Mt. Sunapee Resort. We are grateful to these entities for their continued support of the Mt. Sunapee Bike Race. Please thank them yourselves by being model ambassadors of our sport. Indeed, the future of the race depends critically upon participants (competitors and spectators) being on their best behavior before, during, and after the race.
  • USA Cycling regulations regarding riding conduct (2012 USCF Rulebook section 3B) will be strictly adhered to. In particular, safe execution of the race requires full compliance with Racing Rule 3B1. Center Line. On the portions of the course where there are two traveling lanes in the direction of the race, racers must stay to the right the dotted line between the two lanes. Penalties for Center/Enforcement Line Violations will be as follows: warning for first offense of accidental crossing of the center line with no advance in position; relegation or disqualification for advancing position; 10 day suspension for a flagrantly dangerous attack.
  • As per Racing Rule 3B2. Rules of the Road, it is the responsibility of all racers to know the race course (see enclosed map) and to strictly follow the race instructions.
  • All participants must yield to law enforcement and emergency vehicle personnel as they perform of their duties. Registration lists will be provided to local law enforcement officials to facilitate appropriate follow up (i.e. summons and citations) as they deem necessary.

DIRECTIONS:
  • From I-93 in Concord, NH: take I-89 North, depart I-89 at Exit 9, turn right on to Rt. 103 at bottom of exit ramp, follow Rt. 103 West approx. 15 miles to traffic circle (in Newbury), follow signs to Mt. Sunapee State Park.
  • From I-89 in VT: take I-89 South until NH Exit 12A (Sunapee Exit), turn right at bottom of exit ramp, follow approx. 1 mile and then turn right on to Rt. 11, follow Rt. 11 West approx. 5 miles and turn left on to Rt. 103, follow Rt. 103 East approx. 3 miles to traffic circle (in Newbury), follow signs to Mt. Sunapee State Park.
  • From I-91 in VT, South of I-89: Proceed to VT Exit 8, turn to travel East toward NH at bottom of exit ramp, follow Rt. 103 East approx. 15 miles to traffic circle (in Newbury), follow signs to Mt. Sunapee State Park.

RACE COURSE
  • 1. Start: Proceed down hill from Mt. Sunapee Resort to traffic circle and exit traffic circle traveling west on Rt 103,
  • 2. Turn right from Rt 103 on to Rt 11,
  • 3. Turn right from Rt 11 on to Rt 103A,
  • 4. Turn right from Rt 103A on to Rt 103,
  • 5. Continue straight through traffic circle on Rt 103 for all but the finishing lap,
  • 6. Finish: Enter traffic circle as for other laps, exit traffic circle to proceed up hill to Mt. Sunapee Resort, cross over (staying to the right of the traffic control cones) to finish using the same lane as used for the start.
