SAVAGE, Md. (WMAR) -- A woman was seriously injured when her dirt bike was hit by a car.
The crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday on Knights Bridge Road in the area of Stebbing Way.
Police say a Mitsubishi Lancer, Tae Ok Daily, 58, was traveling northbound on Knights Bridge Road, attempting to make a left hand turn when she struck the dirt bike.
The dirt bike was not equipped with any lights and is not legal to operate on public highways. Emily Rose Day, 22, the driver of the dirt bike, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Day was taken to Shock Trauma where she is listed in serious but stable condition.
The preliminary information has revealed the dirt bike not having lights and not being legal to drive on a highway was the main cause of the collision and Daily never saw the dirt bike as she was making the turn.
The crash is still under investigation.
