The sign at the cash register reads "shoplifters will be beaten to death". This isn't a Harley shop for dentists or lawyers, its a functional, dirty, piece of Americana. Maybe there is a Gimp hanging in the back somewhere I don't know. I ventured in here to have a set screw inserted into a polished nickel pipe. Its not what they necessarily do but I figured if they can build a hog from spare parts they can surely fix my issue. They looked at it, conferred, then began work. $17.50 later they did just what I asked.
If I were a dentist this is where I would have my bike tweaked just so i looked cool. I am no dentist my friend but for 15 minutes I looked pretty damn cool. -

If you like ultra-clean and pretty surroundings to hang around in while your bike gets worked on, go to one of the two Harley dealerships in town.
On the other hand if you don't mind a little grease or dust, and being surrounded by thousands of used parts from bikes of all ages, go to Bud's.
This is how a motorcycle shop should be. Honest dealings from straight up bikers. It's the real deal. If other customers (or shop staff) that may or may not be currently in an outlaw motorcycle club scare you, this is not the shop for you.
I came here to get some mufflers installed one morning. The price they quoted me on the phone was just over half the price Central Texas Harley gave me. (This is one of those times I was hesitant to tell the Yelping public about a place I wanted to keep secret, for fear of it being overrun with bargain hunters, but I just had to give praise when praise is due)
I was told to pull my bike around back to the garage area. A young man named Richie was tasked with switching out my mufflers. He was friendly and quick with a wrench. As he got to work, I decided to walk down to nearby Juan in a Million for some breakfast tacos. To go.
By the time I came back with the tacos, she was all put together and ready to roll. Sweeet..
Then I was directed back inside to pay, where I also inquired about certain modifications I could make to increase performance. The man who appeared to be in charge quoted me great prices.
I will most definitely return again and again to keep my girl serviced and fully accessorized. -

Bud's was honest and knowledgable about the repair I needed from the time I called them for an estimate through completion of the job. I had a broken spoke on my Harley and they replaced it, made sure the wheel was true and had the wheel back on like it was never removed. Their store is "different" than a Harley dealer but Harley is (A) way too expensive for repair, (B) always trying to sell you something and (C) too far from downtown. I like the atmosphere at Bud's and would recommend them to anyone. Thanks Bud.
