since i don't live in AH any more, i sort of forget about this place.

and then i pay a visit to the downtown AH for dinner with my mom at regina's a few doors down, stop in to campbell street bikes just to see what they've got and to 'ooooh' and 'aaaahh' at all of the beautiful bikes, and remember how great it is.

you can tell these folks genuinely care about a.) bikes and biking in general and b.) running a good local business catered to others who care about bikes and biking in general.

I'm proud to call Campbell Street Bikes my LBS.  As a vintage bike owner I make some unusual requests for parts and services that Peter usually manages to fulfill.  Try them out for your biking needs.  You won't be disappointed.

This shop is one in a million. Our family has "cheap" bikes and I hesitated to bring them in, thinking at first that they would be condescending or tell me they couldn't fix my off brand bikes. BOY was I wrong! Their expertise is clear and they are very helpful. One of our bikes was pretty well trashed and the other was in ok shape so Peter's advice was well tailored to each bike individually. And I do like the open shop concept too, it's fun for a non-mechanically inclined person to watch them at work. Keep up the great work, Campbell Street!

What a GREAT place! I needed a new seat for my bike, since the original was granite-hard and causing enormous pain. I got there just about opening time and there were already two people needing service ahead of me.  The owner was laid-back, but efficient in getting the work done.  The charge was completely reasonable, and, twenty minutes later, I was on my way, new bike seat and all. This is a fabulous shop for all kinds of bicyclists, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned rider. I'll go back in a heartbeat.  And, parking was easy.

Great little bike shop in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights. I brought my dad's Schwinn road bike from the 70s in to them to get it back into riding shape. The owner was very honest, telling me that it would cost about $200 to get it back in good condition because the tires were rotted among a few other problems, and said I might almost be better off getting a new bike. I told him to go ahead with the repairs, and within a week it became almost a brand new bike. The staff is quite knowledgeable and their passion for bikes shows. I'd definitely recommend taking your bike here if it needs a tune up. The bike looks great, rides great, and it was worth every penny.
